Red Rooster Tales: The Train to Yesterday

Our premiere production at Cabrini Center was this 90 minute play based on research and collected oral histories, along with newspaper accounts and historical records, from the people of Parrish and Manatee County. These stories were crafted into Red Rooster Tales, a folk-life play by Karen Romant with original music by Ellen VanDolah.  Photos by Tony Beazley.

 One-act plays in the Red Rooster Tales series include: “Neighbors,” a play with song and dance about growing up in Manatee County back in the good ol’ days and today. Featuring a multi-generational cast performing at the Manatee County Fair and the Parrish Arts Council Arts Festival. Also part of the Red Rooster Tales series: "Stories Your Mama Never Told You"
