Murder Under the Mistletoe
You are invited to the Cypress Hollow Holiday Banquet, where you'll find small-town charm, holiday spirit, and just a touch of homicide. Get ready for festivities, fatalities and finger-pointing. Want to help us unwrap this who-dun-it?
CHARACTERS:
Matthew Steele, (older man) big time developer/builder of self-named communities; exudes self-confidence to the point of arrogance, a bon vivant who enjoys his success
Polly Carter, aka Miss Polly, (older woman) civic leader, a kindly Southern lady; when she’s thwarted, her polite demeanor hides a razor-like wit and iron will
Samantha/Samuel Waters, occasionally called Swamp-water Sam by detractors, an eco-activist, unafraid of corporate greed or government regulations
Carlos/Carla Savage, local attorney who represents the highest bidder for his/her services, whose politics and moral compass are negotiable and transferable
Jerry Johnson, local HOA president and man of the people, determined to run things by the book—the right way—like it’s done up North
Maribel Stone, top-producing realtor (“Find Your Way Home with Maribel”) and soon to be ex-wife of Matthew Steele
NOTE: age ranges and genders can be flexible
REHEARSALS:
Will start early in October and will be scheduled on T-W-Th evenings and some Saturdays.
NOTE that actors will not be called to every rehearsal but only as needed. During tech and dress rehearsal week before we open, actors will be expected to attend for each rehearsal as called.
TIME:
It will take 15-30 minutes to audition, and you will be called as you arrive.
WEAR:
Comfortable clothing and be ready to move around and play well with others.
PREPARATION:
Will be cold readings; actors will be given script excerpts to read.
REHEARSALS:
